Church of the Hills Missions Program

The fields are white...We've been commissioned...Let's go to work!

Coordinators:  Margaret Williams   &   Marcy Olson

Every year Church of the Hills packs shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, a program of Samaritan's Purse.  Last year we broke our previous record with 205 shoeboxes packed.  This year, our coordinator, Margaret Williams and her team want to make 300 shoeboxes their goal.  We are excited at the great impact this ministry has around the world, for such a small investment.  Each shoebox not only touches the heart of the child it is given to, it also ends up touching the rest of the family.  It is not uncommon that the child's entire family finds Jesus to be the answer for their lives; then they are discipled through this same program.

Every year Dr. Paul Olson, a member of our church, leads a group on a short-term missions trip somewhere in Central America or the Caribbean Nations.  In 2014, he led a team to Guatemala, a team to Haiti, and a team to the San Carlos Indian Reservation in Arizona.  In 2017 he will be leading a team to Belize, Guatemala and Domincan Republic.

Several other locations are being considered as well in the future, and will be added to this page and the calendar page when they are scheduled.  These trips are usually available for several individuals to join.  If interested in finding out more about these trips, you can contact Paul at or visit their website at:  As other trips come up, you will be able to find out more about them by checking this page and going to the CALENDAR page.

A short-term mission trip is a great way to expand your vision of reaching the world with the love of Jesus.  Refuge Christian Ministries Intl plans several mission trips each year.  The 2016 trips are listed below:

July 31-Aug 10, 2017

October 24-27, 2017

December 25, 2017-Jan 2, 2018

March 12-21, 2018

For more information about any of these trips, please contact Dr. Paul Olson of Refuge CMI at  Some of these trips are open to anyone including entire families.  Some are for men only, and some are for specific skill sets (construction, crusades, medical, etc).

At Church of the Hills, we are committed to reaching the nations.  We have a number of missionaries we support at various levels from prayer support to financial support.  We believe God honors the church who recognizes that the ultimate purpose of the church is not just to meet together and fellowship, but to reach the uttermost parts of the earth with the Good News of the Gospel.
